Hypocrisy of the coffee bean

I'm cool and listen to Radio 4 in the mornings, so I found it amusing when one of the current affairs they were discussing was how Starbucks have are going to start selling instant coffee. Groundbreaking as this is, I fail to see how it makes national news.

I'm torn when it comes to Starbucks: on the one hand it is this commercial giant that is killing the little cafes, and according to my principles I should therefore hate it with a passion. However those sofa's make it a great place to hang out with friends and they do damn good hot chocolate. It seems that temperature and taste buds will forever conquer over morals and money. But that's the other problem, it is incredibly overpriced. I mean, surely we should all be toddling off to John Shields in our frees to get a 55p molten diarrhea instead of opting for the ridiculous trek into town for the privilege of £2.15 goodness?

Hmm... well appealing as both options sound the wealthy teenagers of Winchester have to make a choice. And unfortunately for every delightful little cafe around, it appears that a 15 minute (maybe 20 for the shorter of leg) hike to this evil coffee house giant is preferable. Socialising is too desirable it appears.

What? Everybody likes friends :)
