Who invented january?

It's that time of year again:

It's still freezing (and getting colder), but we no longer have Christmas to look forward to.
The holidays are over, but instead of socialising in the usual Symonds manner (talking, eating, towning) we are now required to actually do work.
Then they give us exams, just to rub salt in the wound. Unless of course you're Katie. Damn her.

In spite of this I'm feeling quite cheerful. I've basically stopped caring about exams now. I mean, the sheer indecency of how soon they are has kind of tipped the anxiety/pain/suicidal tendencies over the edge to a sort of empty numbness.
And I have a new coat and giant mittens, so I can laugh at you all in your coldness.

Sorry, I'll stop being horrible now.
What I really came on here to say was Happy New Year.
Not that that means anything anyway, January 1st is just another day and 'fresh starts' or what ever you kids go on about don't count for anything anyway. But there we go.

Leave me in my bitter twisted little world... :)
